My son is 12 and pitches for his travel team. We've just started looking at the grip on a curve ball and the mechanics involved. He gets pitching instruction too and we will be working with his instructor more to better learn the pitch. Just starting to learn the pitch.

He's thrown it to me once just messing around but hasn't tried it in a game or when throwing BP.

Right now, it's more important for him to go location, location, location. A weak curve and a fastball left up in the zone end with the same result.

I'd like to see him throw some curves next season when he's playing for his Jr. High team.
