It's just a small-format Walmart. Same items (with limited item count in some categories) for grocery and consumables, with very limited general merch.
The idea is for NM's to eventually be "tethered" to larger Walmart's nearby. You will be able to place an order at Walmart.com and pick it up at a NM (instead of just a supercenter), perhaps even drive-through.
But, until then, it's a Walmart fed by the same warehouses as your supercenters or division 1 stores.
