They changed names because they branched out into the solar business and wanted something that sounded cool. They missed terribly with the name, but they hit a fricking home run by recruiting Mormon college kids for their sales staff and installers. They are the Chik Fil A of alarm companies.

Suit yourself. Installers in the rural south are typically uneducated, sloppy, and otherwise unemployable. You can keep the Burger King of alarm companies.

have Vivint and they were extremely nice and wasn't pushy when trying to sell their product. I've had it for two years now and I have had no problems with the system.

Nice generalization. Funny thing is I found my installer to be awesome, lived 10 min away and was sold the system by a good friend of mine. I think it's great to put money in the pockets of people who are practically neighbors instead of seasonal visitors.

then you must not read any reviews other than the ones that direct you back to their site.

I had one of their people catch me while I was cutting the yard and had to threaten him to get off my property.

This was probably 10 years ago. But based on my experience, I would never use them.

Exactly. Here's some backup to that statement.

2.5 stars on local BBB rating.

They have at least 3 class actions on them and just lost a pretty substantial case in Pennsylvania.

Maybe you had a good experience with them. But the rest of the world does not agree.

Maybe you should do a little homework before making dumb accusations?

You don't appear to be very wise to me.

Most recent review in my area.

Review This is the most unprofessional company I have ever experienced. They get you trapped into a loan and the only way that you can cancel is to pay the full loan. The service is sub par. My door camera has not worked consistently since December. I don't feel safe. I have been with them for 5 months and 5 technicians have been to my house. The problem is still not fixed. I implore you...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Ive had Vivint for 2 years and it's great. A little pricey but worth it for all the equipment I got with nothing down. I actually had an appt set up with my old alarm company. They came door to door and weren't pushy. Told me they could have the system installed same day and I said let's do it. Two months later I called my alarm company who never came don't worry about it you guys took too long.

The 5 year contract is pretty ridiculous but I've had zero technical issues since install.

That's the kicker. If you don't have problems, they are GREAT. Or so I've been told. But go ahead and have a problem and see what happens.

First, if I am interested in buying something, I am going to get it. I don't need a salesman come knock on my door to try and push some shite on me. That's a good rule to stick with.

This POS company is based in Utah and could give a F less about you.

Why would I think they would give a frick about them? Is that something salespeople normally do? "I don't know these people, but I am going to go try and sell them something because I really give a frick about them". If they make a sell, they move on to the next potential customer.

Had two problems with them. 1st they forgot to set inside sensors to pet mode and set off the alarm and I had to come home from worked...called them...they apologized...told me how to fix the issue (was a simple flip of a switch). No problems gave me a month off paying.

Second problem was the tech didn't realize we could plug in our garage heater when he installed the camera off the back of the garage...realized come winter couldn't plug in our heater...called them and another tech was here in an hour or so...all free and got another free month out of it.

No problems since...great service for not too much considering how protected it makes the wifey feel when I'm gone to the villages in rural alaska

You are a Grade A shite poster.

Please die.

You obviously haven't heard of "service after the sale". Duh, salesmen don't care, but I expect the company to.

And dogs. Haha. Like most people have trained guard dogs. Most will do jack all if presented with a treat or head scratch.

Vivint salesman for me was actually a perky cute chick in her early 20s. But now I see I should’ve beaten the frick out of her and threatened her with my gun.

I have Vivint and never had a problem. My contract was 2 years. A little pricey for the monthly cost but not much more than local companies.

Should have gotten them to replace the windshield wiper on your old Tahoe.

They suck. I yanked their equipment out before my contract expires so I could switch. Installation crew put a foot through my ceiling.
