I had a rule when I enlisted: don't get married. Probably because I grew up in it being an Army brat myself and saw the dirty underbelly that is post housing.
Also, reach out to your buddies. I know social media is easy to shite on but it has helped me stay in contact with friends I served with. Take advantage of it.
