The elder Paddock, born in Wisconsin in 1926, had a host of other fake names and nicknames, including “Big Daddy” and “Old Baldy," and was on the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted list from 1969 to 1977.

It's an interesting factoid but not sure there's anything more "correlation" than that.
Dad wasn't a mass murderer, he just went around robbing banks and lived a life on the lam. OTOH the son by all accounts lived a quiet life and never bothered anyone at all until this morning.
