my great uncle passed away last year. He served in the navy in the Pacific Theater of WWII. His brothers (one was my grandpa) served in the Air Force and the Army. My grandpa was a Screaming Eagle. His funeral was powerful. The color guard got in a wreck so there was nobody to play taps or fire off a salute (as planned). I was on my way to the burial and saw a couple of humvees at a mcdonalds. I stopped and told the guys what was going on and they (about 20 of them) went to the burial and their officer presented the flag to my great aunt. sad that their are so few of them left.

My uncle passed away in 2000. He was absolutely disgusted when I bought a Mitsubishi as my first car.

I had an uncle (grandmother's brother) who hated Japs till the day he died.

I would hope it was accidental. Anyone downvoting this on purpose is a worthless piece of shite.

Thanks for sharing this. I appreciate reading about the lives these folks led. Always makes me try a bit harder each day to be a little better or do a little more.
