it is and never was about helping people. It is about having control of a nation that we can use to murder and kill while protecting our oil and poppy fields in the middle east.

Wait, if her dad was born in 1865, he would have been 67 when she was born. Let's just say he was 15 in 1865, that means he was 82 when she was born.
He was 83 when she was born. He actually had a son when he was 87.

Triplett's father was Mose Triplett, born in 1846. He joined the Confederate army in 1862, but later deserted and signed up with the Union. His first wife died and they did not have any children. He later married Elida Hall who was at least 50 years younger. They had five children, three of whom did not survive infancy. But Irene, and her younger brother Everette did. Mose Triplett was 83 when Irene was born, nearly 87 when her brother Everette came along.
Mose Triplett died a few days after returning from the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg in 1938. His wife and daughter went to go live in public housing, and his son ran away. Elida Triplett died in 1967. Everette Triplett died in 1996.

She does the same thing that Edwin Edward's wife does, and other similar gold diggers
Is the daughter of a Civil War vet a gold digger?

They must have all died off, or I need to reread this article. Which is possible. lol
That must be UK WWI widows. The article in the OP has a list of WWI widows in the US still receiving pensions.

All of this is actually interesting me for another reason. In current times, modern science has brought us Viagra, Cealis, etc, but back in the day, men seemed to stay virile and furtile much longer that now.
My grandfather was born when his dad, a Civil War veteran, was 53. There were 2 more kids after him and another younger by about 4 years.
That being said, men marrying younger women and having kids later in life is nothing new.
