U.S. Is Sending Vaccine Materials to Covid-Ravaged India

Wanted to preface this by saying F*CK CHINA, which should be tagged to every Covid related thread.
India is a strong ally and they need our help. India is very densely populated and social distancing is extremely difficult there.
I know a lot of us had a difficult time in the past year. But look at where we are as a nation relative to the rest of the world around this virus. The dominant vaccines are all American (J&J, Pfizer, and Moderna) thanks to the rapid action of America's strong pharm industry and a rare case of government foresight in removing/compressing the FDA approval schedule. We started seeing new cases collapse in the nursing homes in the US when the vaccines started making their way through those group homes even in late December.
Europe is playing BREXIT politics with the British-developed Astrazeneca vaccine, and they are caught flat footed as a consequence.
I'm massively embarrassed because of the constant race baiting, our pathetic media, and the questions around the election last year in the US. But beyond that I think we can argue that the US has risen to this challenge better than most. That includes those of us that had the guts to take an unproven vaccine and those of us that are determined to go about our lives as normally as possible. We are all helping a lot more than these mask fanatics IMO.

The U.S. will send India raw materials for vaccines and step up financing aid for Covid-19 shot production, joining European countries in pledging to help stem the world’s biggest surge in cases.
“Just as India sent assistance to the United States as our hospitals were strained early in the pandemic, we are determined to help India in its time of need,” President Joe Biden tweeted on Sunday.
Material needed to produce Covishield, the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine made in India, has been identified and “will immediately be made available,” Emily Horne, a spokesperson for U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, said in a statement.

Slight understatement...

If we're in a position to help our allies, I say go for it.

No. Nope. No sir.
The only mongering allowed regarding the COVID pandemic is fear mongering.

The beauty in all of this is that the take rate is still pretty high for these vaccines. When you are comfortable, you can get it later. There's still some level of protection in the community because many others are doing it.
The real problem in the US was the nursing homes and the group homes. Once we started pushing these vaccines in the nursing homes, the new case numbers started to collapse.

And their personal hygiene is fricking awful. And their waste infrastructure, in more areas than people realize, is simply "shite in the street".
They also have extremely powerful antibiotics available over the counter. So powerful, docs in the US avoid them unless it is a literal life or death situation. And these people pop them like skittles.
It isn't a matter of if, but rather when, an antibiotic resistant super bug comes out of India and fricks some shite up globally.
Honestly can't believe it took this long for COVID to explode there. With the dense population, poor hygiene, one of the highest smoking rates in the world, and lack of quality healthcare for so many - it is a COVID dream.

Where is the WHO?
Are they doing anything?
The US is giving them millions of dollars and they aren't doing shite.

Covering for the CCP and spending more money on 5-star hotels than on actual diseases.

This is the most patriotic post I've seen on the OT in a while. My heart grew 3 sizes today.

Not sure why either. During one of their many religious holidays, millions of people went to bathe in the Ganges river. India also has a very large percentage of the population that is poor with some of them that are literally dirt poor. They have more people living in the slums then most countries have total populations. These people are living cramped and sure as hell not going to follow any sort of hygienic behaviors. They're unlikely to get tested or see care so India's real numbers have to be WAY higher.

It's about time. Should have already happened. Anti American sentiment has been growing in India for a while due to inaction.
