Update: Took truck to shop this morning. It isn't a coolant leak. It's burning oil. Found oil coated plug on number 1 cyl. Estimated $3K repair or more depending on head damage. Can't see investing that in an 18 yr truck with 255k miles. I will be truck shopping. In the mean time I bought some cheap high mileage oil to keep it leveled off. no coolant or oil leaks at this time. Thanks for all the input and advice guys.

Well apparently it isn't very bad since you didn't notice it. A little oil consumption is really not a big deal.

No but I’ve used the best one on the market several times. Blue devil from O’reilly or Walmart is the best money can buy. It’s not a 100k mile fix but it will help you kick the can down the rd

I mean if you just want an excuse to buy a new truck then this is as good as any. But its going to cost you way more than $3000

You could probably buy all the tools required to swap the engine AND a replacement engine for 1800. I’d do that before picking up another truck note.
