Any idea when they hired last out of Avondale? Wondering if it’ll be a while before they post something again. I’ve been checking pretty regularly for the past couple weeks.

frick YOU if you ever go for a job as a TM. They are fricking scum who eat their own shite while getting pegged in the arse with an 18 inch horse dildo.

For a trainmaster all you need is to have a college degree. Any degree will do. We have one TM with a fricking drama degree or something like that. Some dude with a fricking drama degree straight out of college can tell us how to do our job and then fire us for trivial BS all because his damn book says we did it wrong.

I honestly couldn't tell you..i haven't really looked or seen any others share it in a while. I will say this, when you see it posted don't waste time because they only leave them up for 2 to 3 days before they have enough applicants.

I’ll keep my eyes open. I’ll hit you up again if I have more questions. Thanks again

It's all good. I had someone ask me if i had seen this thread, so that's the only reason i knew about it. I don't usually do searches for these things but I did just to see what was being said or asked. I'll be in the look out now though if you have anymore questions.

Yea, unfortunately you cannot send messages on this site otherwise I would have went that route.

Is it easy to switch companies? I see an opening in my city for KCS but would prefer to get on with UP.

Don't really think it's that hard. Had a buddy switch from up to kcs recently.. Only thing is your seniority starts over with a new company. He had 6 years with up and went in as a new hire with kcs at the very bottom.. If it were me, i wouldn't switch from one to another and lose that seniority but that's just me. If i leave, it's not gonna be for another railroad. Up down here isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be. The money to be made though is in Texas! I would suggest make your decision now on which company you want to go with and just stick with it! Good luck to you!

Could you do me a favor and ask your buddy who recently went to KCS where the crew change points are if hired you’re out of New Orleans? I’m also curious about the same if hired out of Baton Rouge.

He went back to Shreveport to be closer to family. Don't have anyone else to ask down here. Sorry!

What about local, New Orleans-based short-line railroads? Could be a good starting point? Just spit-balling trying to help.

Shortlines are generally easier to get hired for. By going that route you can see if you like it while also getting experience/certified which will help you get hired on a big road.
