ULM scholarships will benefit from new Flying Tiger beer

Proceeds from War Hawk, a new beer from Flying Tiger Brewery will benefit the University of Louisiana Monroe Foundation scholarship fund.

Robert Brewer, co-founder of the craft brewery, said the business wanted to acknowledge the university and all that it means to this community. It's a huge economic driver, he said, not just a base for academic achievement.

He said the goal is for 5 percent of what the brewery makes on War Hawk to go to the student scholarship fund via the ULM Foundation. Brewers said the brewery plans to make a quarterly donation to the fund.
