It is a dog park for off leash play. A majority of the dogs are running. That is what it is for.

I got that part.
If your dog is off leash at a dog park, it should listen to your commands. Your story sounded like it got away from you. Does your dog come / sit when ordered?
Pit bull owner sounded like a moron, but your dog did run up on his, right? He tried to mouth off, and you called him out.
Hmm. After I think about it more, and picture the guy, I take back the a-hole remark.

We were walking toward him and vice versa, Our dogs intersected and nothing happened til he started with the ball faking.

Same here. Mine is an AmStaff, she may as well be a Lab or Retriever. You guys do know there are almost 20 different breeds of Pit Bull right? Some are not aggressive at all.
