When I used to bring my Kangal to Zippys, all other dogs would keep their distance. Except puppies.
Didn't matter the breed or size of the dog, it was like they all knew there was something considerably less domesticated hanging out in the back corner.
He was cool with any of them, but expected the larger dogs to give him space. He'd let the puppies crawl all over him. Bite him, he really just enjoyed their attention.
Pits aren't my cup of tea, but that's only because I dont like any kind of terrier.
