I mean, death is a little harsh for someone without insurance. Maybe indentured servitude until the debt is paid but death is a bit much.

Yeh, I know. I just get so fricking frustrated by those idiots. Definitely need some mandatory jail time, especially those actually involved in an accident. At the time of accident, if you cannot show proof of insurance, you go directly to jail for 30 days min. No trial.
