If your dog doesn't go crazy over a dog treat, then something is wrong with it. I don't see any major benefit in withholding food over just awarding with treats. I've trained all my dogs with treats effectively and easily.

That’s great. There are many ways to train dogs. Does not make mine gospel or yours wrong or vice versa. It’s what works for that particular dog. Good luck OP.

He actually loves the wind in his face- like any other dog... As for safety, i would never drive around and let him be in the back freely. I bought a special leash for the back of the truck that runs from each side of the bed wall. In the middle of that leash there is about a 2foot long leash that restrains him from jumping over the side. This way he couldn't jump out even if he wanted to.
