I'm not here proclaiming its right or wrong. I'm just saying its selfish. In fact taking birth control is pretty much the definition of selfish behavior.

I'm as pro-life as the next guy (although only personally, I do not maintain a political objection to abortion on demand) - but family planning, via traditional birth control (IUD, hormonal, barrier method, rhythm, temporary/permanent sterilization, etc.) is a positive sign of an enlightened society.

If I have resources stretched with 3 children, for example, why compound that with a 4th, 5th, etc. In an era with almost guaranteed infant survival, and no need of large families to operate farms and such, we would do better to maintain a flatter population. There are only so many resources to go around as it is.

Exactly what the priest was getting at. They won't outright condone birth control but that practice is okay by them and not worthy of a lightning strike like it used to be.

I agree but by you taking an action to prevent an undesired outcome because you have no self control is the definition of selfish.

No, no it's not.

Being a responsible adult and taking measures to not have a child you are either not emotionally or financially ready for isn't being selfish. It's being a responsible adult.

How many kids do you have?

No offense but if she can't understand something as basic as different birth control options besides the pill...and she is not some teenage girl....she's not too bright.

Don't see how that's entrapment, she's not really trapped at all.

She can a) get an abortion because women can do that, b) morning after pill because women can do that, or c) keep the child, restrict the man's access to the child, and get a paycheck.

She's still the one in charge of that situation.
