my kid is at a private school, and all the kids complain about the Michelle Obama lunches.
Do private school kids mooch off the school lunch for poors program, or are they just complaining about a nonexistent issue?

Look, I am not an Obama fan, but I could never understand why trying to make school lunches healthy was somehow controversial.
It's not so much that, as it is the food is almost inedible. When i was in school, we had great lunches. Last year I went to have lunch with my buddy and his little brother at a local junior high, and as adults, we also threw the lunches away. It was pretty sad how terrible it was. Kids either being their lunches, or don't eat.
Michelle Obama's lunch plan is about as successful as Common Core, it isn't.

But the kids weren’t eating the healthy food. They were trashing it.Bc they aren’t used to eating healthy food at home
Well first of all, this is definitely a well researched and substantiated claim made by you. I have no doubt that you have plenty of sources to backup this insinuation that a large portion of school children were throwing their food away and just not eating. You definitely didn't just see a weird viral Facebook post from a random mom somewhere, complaining that their kid threw away their food, and then used that as your basis for a conclusion on what the majority of kids were doing (because Obama did it! So it must be bad)
Secondly isnt the fact that kids "aren't used to it at home" more of a reason to implement healthy lunches? If they don't get it at home, and they don't get it at school, theyre going to grow up just like their unhealthy parents, not knowing anything about proper nutrition or seeing any issues with dieting their way into a multitude of the health issues that are crippling this country. The vicious cycle will never be broken.

Just curious- what was your meal?
Healthy food doesn't have to taste bad. But it will be an adjustment for some kids. If you're used to eating deep-fried foods every meal with mashed potatoes being your vegetable source and cookies and ice cream for desert every dinner, you're not going to at first like a plate with a grilled chicken breast, vegetable medley, and some fruit for dessert. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try to shift in that direction.
