Its really hard to find an XLT and I'm not sure why

You can get XLs with power features and SYNC. And Lariats aren't much more than XLTs, so there's not much point to that trim anymore IMO. I think buyers either want the work truck or the luxury version, leaving few buyers looking for the in between XLT.

So the only way to truly afford a KR is to buy new?
Yes, that's exactly what I said in my post.

Here, I'll say it again EXACTLY like I said it before:

EVERYONE, DON'T BUY A KING RANCH UNLESS YOU CAN BUY IT NEW!

How would you know? We know almost nothing about this truck and haven't even seen a listing.
Your right, it's a WONDERFUL deal!

A 2014 F-250 KR is a commodity. The best one with 40k on it is only worth so much.

But you're smarter than me, so I'll buy two at that price.

Thanks!

Awkward price point I guess. The price shoppers are likely to go for the XL, the option shoppers are likely to go for a higher trim.

At least that's my WAG

It's a damn fine truck. Nothing wrong with the Ford 6.0 diesel. But I do wonder if you really NEED a diesel. The 5.4 Triton gas motor is plenty for most needs.

You can thank "certified preowned" for that.

go back further and you can thank cash for clunkers for that. Dealerships were taking good basic $3000 cars and just crushing them which did exactly what one would expect it to do, it drove up the price of used vehicles.

Democrats hate poor people so much that they devised a plan to pay wealthy people to crush lower grade used vehicles rather than sell them to poor people.

This Diesel is not a gas burner, but whatever.

"That's almost exactly the same price as a new '17 model with no leather or sunroof. "

That is what I was pointing out to the above quote. The only way to get this new around 40 is to get a gas xl.

The one in the link has to already has all the discounts applied, some he probably will not qualify for. I can promise you if he does not finance with Ford that price jumps $750. If the OP is looking at a used one, he can get them to come down more, get a better deal and more truck for the money.

I didn't follow the link, but is that a completely stripped one?

$42,8??.00 is guess you could consider that close to 40 but without the ford financing discount do you still consider 43,6?? close to 40?

I see a lot of XLTs on the road. Probably the most common. I figure if they're hard to find it's Bc everyone wants one. I do agree a XL with power features is not bad, but the XLT is nice enough for to never even consider a Lariat.

I would be reluctant to pay that for a brand new Ford Diesel.

Buy the extended warranty if you must have that truck.
