Having lived in both cities for an extended period of time can easily say traffic in Dallas is just as bad if not worse than Houston.
Having done the same I can easily say you're full of shite.

I see about 10,000 people who haven’t downloaded the Waze app.

I prefer the city right now in my current stage of life, but with kids, the suburbs are nice. I couldn’t do the cookie cutter though. I’d need a bigger yard.

I’m 25 and should be living in the city but can’t justify the $300+ in tolls plus gas. And an hour of my day commuting. Think I’d lose it.

Can just uber or shack up when I want to go out in Dallas.

ETA: I just got here a few months ago so maybe I’ll change my mind in time.

I used to work and live in the burbs too. I had a couple $200 Ubers home.

I haven’t had an Uber in the city over $15 in a long time.

I’ll have to settle on a 6 before I spend $200 on an uber

Nothing compares to the Bonnet Carre Spillway when it get shuts down. I have seen the travel ball baws pull out their lawn furniture and coolers that they keep handy and start a nice lil party on the bridge.

This is why I carry a bucket in my car. No way I'm going to get stuck in a mess like that with nowhere to crap or piss.

I haven’t had an Uber more than $8 since living in the city. Such a deal. My drive to work in Las Colinas right by the Toyota Music Factory is only 15 mins there and 25 mins Home so that’s not bad either

Well, I guess that explains the 1 hour commute from Frisco to Highland Park on the tollway this morning at 8:00 am. Usually takes no more than 30-40 since the lane expansion. Everyone avoided 75 and took the tollway.

Probably moving out toward McKinney soon. But I can just take 121 to 114 to get to Las Colinas but will probably just go to 35E to Bush. Either way there’s a ton of options to get in and out of the burbs.

I already pay 120 a month in tolls. It’s a way of life that I’m use too.

If I ever left my company it would totally be for one of the Tech firms in Frisco/Plano.

And the guy who said Dallas is 10 years behind in infrastructure is smoking luncheon meat.

I'm surprised there has yet to be any Houstonians show up in this thread to tell everyone they have no idea what traffic is

I’m a houstonian and I’d prefer houston traffic to BR traffic anyway. It’s less frustrating, and it’s more understandable considering Houston is ten times the size of BR.

121 is never too bad. It was well built.

That was my point earlier. I was just speaking more that if traffic is the same, each burb has an ideal highway to take.

We pay about $300ish in tolls but they’re expensed and reimbursed.

Gridlock traffic + dumb drivers + careless drivers = Dallas.

FIFY.

Hell Baton Rouge metro is like 1/8 the size of DFW and their traffic is worse every day.

Waze is a great way to commute from Frisco, McKinney, Prosper, etc. my husband drives to Los Colima’s daily and usually takes 121 straight through but sometimes takes 35.

Today was the worst traffic I’ve seen in a couple years, including when the tollway was under construction for the expansion. Traffic usually means going 50 mph with 1,000 other cars at the same time. Traffic in Baton Rouge means putting your car in park on the freakin get interstate. Even today I never got under 40 mph and was pissed.

As far as the infrastructure comment, it’s so ridiculous it doesn’t even merit acknowledgement.

If my tolls were reimbursed I would’ve gotten a place in Dallas instead of by Legacy.

But being 5 minutes from the office and the gym will be nice for a while.
