About 4 years ago I got one from a trip to Pensacola, I get a letter in the mail about every two months from a law firm threatening to turn me over to collections. This has been going on for 4 years, nothing has happened.

My wife has probably 10 of them (all unpaid) going back a decade at this point.
The program is a complete scam. The city even went as far to contract a legal firm to send a second certified letter demanding payment with an additional penalty

They obviously get people to send in a check with their bullshite fear tactics or they would have axed the program long ago.

I had a former coworker that would send them Monopoly money every time he got one.
I draw a picture of a dick on their ticket and mail it back to them in their prepaid envelope.

Got my first one since I've known my wife yesterday. She had no idea you can simply tell them to eat a dick.

They eventually stop sending notices on the old ones but we are still getting them from some of her more recent ones. frick em. Please prove to me who was operating the vehicle.

I'll also need to confirm that the software linking the radar to the camera operates correctly and that it was doing so on that day. I may need to see some source code and some details on the hardware involved.
I'll also need an environmental report to verify that there were no sources of interference whether RF, reflective, or otherwise.
Does the confrontation clause apply here or only for criminal cases?

They way I see it is this. If I loan you my chainsaw and you cut down a tree with it and it falls on your neighbor's house, I'm not responsible for it. The operator of the vehicle matters.
The only one of these I've ever gotten in my name was one of my kids driving.

And the way I see it is this. If the purpose is ostensibly public safety, then I want to see evidence that this goal is being achieved. Otherwise it's just a way to generate revenue to line pockets.
