That's what I was thinking. They usually don't get in the mix until the jet stream shifts north. Spring is our time to shine in the south.

We are moving to Kansas City in two weeks....not looking forward to having to deal with these. Gonna have to invest in a weather alert radio I guess.

Not unheard of but certainly not a typical March tornado hot spot. Warm front has surged up to nearly Chicago ahead of a pretty potent system making it possible for tornadoes but most likely nothing major.

I thought I read that El Niño years usually meant a slower tornado season.
