tiny boxes of crayons were always a downer...a few times my mom had to kick me and make me say thank you when someone dropped a pencil in my bag

An old man in my neighborhood gave out oranges one Halloween. Beats pencils or dental floss, I guess.

Not sure I ever tried this as a kid, just shoved it in my brother's bag and stole his Reeses. Tried it about 10 years ago and really liked it, kicked myself for all the years of missed opportunity.
Haven't had it since, maybe it really is nasty crap.

Got canned corn one time. The lady said "hang on, let me get your Halloween treat" and I looked away and started talking to my friends. All of a sudden a huge THUMP into my bag and she closed the door. I look and voila - canned corn

those orange and black wrapped candy that everyone received, but I do not believe anyone ever ate them because people were injecting them with drugs back in the 80/90's. My parents let us be kids when we were growing up but when it came to Halloween, they turned into the FBI when inspecting candy

I remember my mom was like that too...She said before you eat a piece let me check it..after about 5 pieces she said frick it
