Just taking them to not hurt to be honest. I was taking them as prescribed but as time went on just one at a time didn’t help with the pain so I did 2 at a time 4-5 times a day.

You're in a tough profession. I bet your body gets beat up pretty good. So how are you doing?

Was your doctor still prescribing them at this rate? Or did you have to look for other means of getting them?
Keep up the good work brother.

Dr. Was still prescribing them. Plus I was buying them. It just got out of hand.
I just want to say thanks for all the support. I’m feeling great. Physically and Mentally. 7 days clean. First time in 8 years. It’s crazy. My mind feels so clear. When I first started this. I was scared shitless. When I was going through it I thought it was the hardest thing in the world. And I know it’s far from over but I feel great and I will continue to take it day by day

My mind feels so clear.
There's different types of withdrawals
quote:
Although withdrawal symptoms are uncomfortable, they typically end after two weeks at most, especially when a medical professional oversees the detox process. However, some drugs can lead to prolonged or protracted withdrawal, lasting for months and sometimes up to a year. People who consume a large amount of an intoxicating substance for a long time are more likely to develop this condition, which is called post-acute withdrawal syndrome (PAWS). The term was created to describe the cluster of ongoing withdrawal symptoms, which are largely psychological and mood-related, that can continue after acute withdrawal symptoms have gone away. Although post-acute withdrawal rarely involves aches and pains, nausea, cramping, headaches, or other physical symptoms, it can be just as intense as acute withdrawal and still puts a person at risk of relapse, as they may return to drug use in an attempt to stop the discomfort.
I'm leaning on you bro but your struggle is just starting. In my experience, I've had hella alcohol withdrawals almost to the point of needing medical intervention numerous times. Once I got a couple weeks clean, my mind can frick me sideways into thinking "I've got this" I can drink a few beers. It's a slippery slope that I've experienced. I mentioned the pink cloud earlier in this thread and you're on it which is all good. Just realize that *for me* once an alcoholic, always and alcoholic. Insert you DOC and it's all the same

At least you are sleeping , insomnia is fricking horrible. Glad you are doing good man. Just don't make the mistake of thinking you can take a pill every now and then because it doesn't work that way. Your habit is constantly growing even if you aren't taking anything, it's like a caged animal ready to get out and if you let it out it will rip you to shreds. I know this from multiple relapses and each time it got worse and worse.

I know I can never take another pain pill again. And I know I have a long road ahead of me. I’m just trying to be as positive as I can.
