Ate at Nagoya for lunch sitting right across from the hibachi grill area. I saw the mexican(maybe 30yrs old) guy preparing at least 7 individual plates for patrons and not one left a tip. There was a huge glass tip jar with a good bit of money in there.

I later had the mexican guy fix me a plate and left 2 bucks in the tip jar. Personally, if I didn't have at least 1-2 bucks to tip, I would not had gotten food from the hibachi grill.

Would you have left a tip?

Tip jar at a Hibachi place? Jesus christ, how f'in tacky.

Here, they pay the guys a decent wage, and you tip out, with the bill, for waitress and what ever she shares. No tipping the Hibachi chef. And LOL at Getting Mexican Hibachi cooks.

It’s actually pretty common around Baton Rouge. The real deal Asians go elsewhere and the only people left to fill these positions are hardworking Mexicans looking to make an honest dollar. They can cook rice just as well.
