Hiking in Colorado years ago and thought I heard it raining. After a few seconds I realized it wasn't water that was falling. It was little ticks. I ran out of there and miraculously only had one little one on my lower back.

Had something similar happen while hiking in Virginia. Still terrified of ticks to this day. They are absolutely the worst.

Don't know. Scruffy cannot verify the success rate of any doc in a box place.

He should just go to a doctor. The stupidity of people who ask "should I go to the doctor" is astounding.

The proper answer is always "No. Stay home and get drunk. Nothing bad will happen."

Darwinism.

bless you. You speak for me on this one.

I know a FAMILY from Alabama that got Lyme disease. The daughter fought it for years.

Go to the DOC.

You might want to go see the Nurse Practitioner.

What? Did they share the same tick (could see that in Alabama)? Did they give it to each other via body fluids?
WTF?

Go to the ER you dumb frick. Better yet, don't go to the ER. Stay home. Idiot.

Scruffy I thought you were an ER doc and you hate people going to the ER that don't need to go.

I like when scruffy refers to himself in the third person... which hasn't happened yet! Disappointing thread!

I think it's hilarious because Scruffy and my sister had overlapping residency orbits at the same hospital.

She's surly as frick...but a helluva surgeon. Must be something in the water.

Please don't clog up our ER's with that shite. Doc in Box will be fine. Hope you live.

See your primary care doc in the morning or the next day.

If you start having fevers or generally feel bad, re evaluate how bad you feel and consider more urgent evaluation. But for just a rash without rapid spreading, pain, etc it's ok to hang for a day.

Let us know if they diagnose Lyme.

Interesting note - some people have a LONG fight with Lyme and tons of bad effects downstream. Recent data gives reason to doubt whether the long term effects are ALL due to Lyme or actually due to individual gut response to the antibiotics for so long.

Get you some Prescript Assist probiotics.

How times have changed. I grew up going to the woods and grew up with ticks. Once i noticed I had black sand on my legs and I was thinking where the crud did I run into black sand? Come to find out it was a swarm of seed ticks. Terrible! Had so many bites from them and mosquitoes that my pride and joy turned purple (seriously).

But now a days you got lyme, borrelia (sp), and a bunch of crap that will end your life......
