My daughter joined the AF after college. She loves it. She works in the medical field.

If you are bored I would move to a big city and give that a shot and if it doesn't work out then sign up.

I did the same. Didn't get into OTS and still enlisted. Don't regret a thing.

Depending on your job in the military in general you can still get a 9 to 5.

Complete bullshite. All you have to be is proactive like with any career. Why the frick would leadership not want pro active go geters over people who wait for advancement to come to them.

I'm taking a commission this spring through the Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP). They pay for my medical school and I serve as an AF doc. Pretty sweet gig. And promoted to Capt. straight out of med school.

If you feel like the AF is for you, then do it. But what you are feeling, is what everyone at your age feels. You are starting to realize that bitches, blow, and 10 million in the bank is not in your future, and real life is a terrible grind. That will not change no matter what job you have. So research the AF, but you are going to have to grind the next 30 years of your life, and we all hate it. Cheers, buddy.

For all the trouble the army brought me including deployment to AFG it's still one of the best decisions I've made. Air Force life is probably much better than the army also.

This is all true but it doesn't change i don't like what I do now and I feel like I'm wasting my life.

The AF for the most part treats its enlisted people like adults. But we still have our knuckleheads but getting a one way ticket out the AF is very easy. Zero tolerance for a lot of shite.

Worst possible scenario is that you join, don't like it and get out with an Honorable discharge. Do it.

I was in the Army for 4 years. It wasn't for me and I got out, but it was easily the best decision I ever made.
