Peer reviewed simply means that it was looked at by other scientists, it doesn't tell us whether it's a valid study or not.
If a study is not peer reviewed you probably shouldn't even count it because so many of them are horseshite.

This site has a breakdown of every HCQ study
The combo of HCQ, azithromycin, and zinc just keeps the immune system from going ultra cray cray and causing a shite ton of damage to the lungs which would make a pt with mild covid-19 symptoms progress to severe severe symptoms and possible into ARDS and require a ventilator. However, multiple studies have also shown that low dose steroids is more effective or at least as effective as HCQ, azithromycin, and zinc at keeping the immune system in check and keeping a patient with mild covid-19 symptoms from progressing. Plus low dose steroids have a lot less side effects and can be used in combination with Remdesvir if a pt's symptoms progress.
