Hillar Moore, the EBR District Attorney, said last night on TV that he "questions" arresting the mom for what she did. He said the extent of the bruises and cuts on the kids arms and legs from the beating she gave them with electrical cords probably forced the cops to arrest her.

He's not sure yet if he will prosecute her.
because he knows there's a huge single parent problem in the black community in Baton Rouge. He sees issues resulting from this every day go through his office. I'm sure he's glad to see one parent attempting to solve her own issues internally.

but that isn't the point.

Right. The point is that if all you know is violence and that's the only way you know how to discipline your kids, that's all your kids will know and you create a terrible, vicious cycle that will lead to something like... Maybe, your pre-teen kids attempting to burglarize your neighbor's home. But yeah, this mom should be commended! They don't make em like they used to!!!

you first mistakenly equated discipline to violence.

Nobody will attempt a reasonable debate with someone like you that likes to use catch phrases such a violence.

You already have your mind made up that physical discipline = violence so the debate is already over.

You mean like this one?

They don't make em like they used to!!!

Arresting and charging the woman does nothing to make the situation better. It's a waste of resources and only reinforces the kids negative behavior.

Violence is a "catch phrase" now? Jesus.

No. Grabbing your child by the arm or maybe giving them a little tap on the arse isn't "violence". Beating them with a wire to the point of breaking the skin is "violence". There are degrees. Until people stop viewing everything in absolutes, the discussion will go nowhere.

There is middle ground. I, in no way, believe this woman to be a good parent, but it's obvious she cares. She's just an ignorant parent like millions of others. Spankings and physical negative reinforcement have a place, but you shouldn't need an RCA cord to to accomplish it.

I am not really even commenting on the punishment she gave the kids. That's up to her. My issue is the arrest and charges.

Louisiana loves to go overboard with the CJ system. It doesn't seem to be working that well.

What? Why would a DA's decision to prosecute or not change my opinion?

She's a violent criminal who never learned how to shut her legs. Hope her kids don't end up like her.

Greatest part is the facebook comments

quote:

Angela Laws Bajoie The system is wrong the law was passed to not hit your children so the system can make money off blacks because back in the days black children didn't do as much because they knew their parents would tear into them now they system wants to make money off the children..The world is going out wrong..

quote:

Yvette Mixon Yeah, she was arrested....because they would RATHER have your kids jailed and in the system than to have them disciplined

quote:

Estella Ducksworth She wasn't arrested because she whipped her sons, she was arrested for being a mother to black boys. The system don't want black parents to be black parents. if blacks don't raise their children them they will do something to land them into a system that was build to put/keep them behind bars. Once they are behind bars, the system makes money off them, and take the parents money as well. DON'T LET THE SYSTEM BULLY YOU!

Im also curious about one thing. Since everyone is claiming she is such a great parent for staying on top of things and disciplining her kids, then why the hell are they little badasses?

If she were raising her kids right, they wouldn't be breaking into houses.
