Dude was just your avg baw douche.
I’m a trumpy lover and this guy is equivalent to him (rich , baw, leader). So hate him or love him. Still cool as I’d appreciate DJT a thousand before me.

The tomb is 3300 years old. The mask is breathtaking. It’s almost unbelievable the tomb survived intact. Humanity is very lucky. Only the Rosetta Stone can beat this discovery regarding the ancient Egyptians IMO.
I want to travel to Egypt one day to see all of it over a couple of months once retired. Pyramids, Valley of the Kings, and even the lesser known pyramids/sites with top tier guides/accommodations/access. Definitely high up on my bucket list.

Took a bus ride with the family down to NOLA back in the late 70s to see the Tut exhibit. First time learning about NOLA and/or something as significant as Tut's tomb find. Ate at a fine restaurant for the first time ever and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great memory to this day.

I spent some time in cario in the early 90's. Rather than use top tier guides, I would go to the cab stand outside the Hotel and interview cab drivers for a day rate commitment . The chosen one would provide a full day tour from the Egyptian point of view. Spent a whole afternoon at saqarra ?spelling, and with 10 dollar bills for entrance passing, were able to view up close and personnel the burial chambers 200 feet below the surface. Got some great pictures of my son laying in a scarcaphogas ?spelling with brilliant heriogliphics ?spelling. Go native and see the best

"From Chicago, Tut moved to New Orleans, running from September 15, 1977, to January 15, 1978. The museum had never hosted anything to rival Tut. One month before the exhibition debuted, group tours sold out. The museum also stopped offering memberships, which included access to the exhibition, after subscriptions climbed from 3,000 to 12,000.
When the doors closed, 870,594 people had seen the show and spent $75 million in town. The museum saw Tut off with a jazz funeral."
The wife and I with three other couples went, what struck me at the time was the discovery and preservation of such beautiful and priceless objects 3,000 + years old, and the insight they provided into an advanced ancient civilization. It remains one of the best museum exhibits I've ever seen.

Now don’t think I’m a nut
Don’t want no fancy funeral
Just want like ole King Tut
