OP, just insert the word “is” between “This” and “a”. Then your title will make sense.
Now, with that out of the way, the OP is right. We do have to reopen the economy and do it sooner rather than later. If we don’t, this country will enter an economic depression that will dwarf the Great Depression. And the death toll and misery from that depression will dwarf what we’ve seen from this virus.
