Going to be there for a week. Probably will have a car as well so anything within several hours is also on the table.

Thanks.

Roger doesn't drink.
I rented a Jeep, call early. Drive around and enjoy. Weather should be great this time of year.
Other than that, I went up for a run so I didn't do much parting.

I'm not looking to really party. If I don't have one beer i'd be ok (although I'll definitely have some).

I'm looking to do outdoor excursions.

There's a couple of TD'ers who live there now.

How much time do you have?

Check out Independence mine on Hatchers Pass

Portage/Girdwood. Girdwood is a funky little ski community 45 min. on the Seward hwy. Take the tram up and eat at the restaurant on top of the mountain.

Flightsee if you have the money.

If you can get to Seward, check out Kenia Fjords. Seward is a three hour drive from ANC.

There's a hell of a lot of stuff to do within 2-3 hours of Anchorage. Depends on how much money you want to spend and what you want to see. Definitely drive the Seward Hwy to Portage and the GLenn Hwy to Hatchers Pass. If you can get to Talkeetna (two hours on the Parks Hwy) go there. You might not wanna leave. Great place.

Lots of good microbrews and restaurants, most near the downtown area. Avoid 4th ave. and Mountainview. If you're into strip clubs, The Bush Co. is the place to be.

Not sure if we got lucky or what but the weather was outrageous. Cool in the AM and awesome during the day. We drove around Kenai(sp) some, saw a whale, but mainly just looked around. Anchorage was nice, clean, friendly people, nice downtown(they were playing Cajun music when we walked up). All in all I loved it.
Make sure to see the tide range, it's fricking crazy or at least it was when we were there.
Check back.

your looking at about 20 hours of daylight right about now .You know one of the things i miss most is sitting on the ground and not having one freaking bug crawl on you . Try that anywhere down here in the southeast united states.

Anything outdoors is a most. Hiking, boating etc... If you get the time try getting to Denali wildlife park about a 4 to 5 hour drive but the most beautiful drive you will ever see.

We are going to Denali. That much I know. Think about checking out Seward too I believe is the town.

To whoever asked I have a week.
