I always find myself texting people I have not heard from in a while. Gives me a chance to catch up with people while having a brew.

The lower air pressure in airplanes make hangovers worse, FWIW. If you want to feel like shite on the next leg of your flight, go for it. I'd look for an airport gym, or just walk around and people watch.

I could people watch all day in an airport. Put on your headphones, surf the internet, and check out all of the hotties and freaks.

I assume you're not a vet. I once sat in Atlanta for 8 hours and drank at the USO the entire time.
