Speculation is these talks are just being used by both sides to better position assets

They have the want to duke it out . I wish I was at the playground. I would instigate this shite so bad. North Korea would get punched in the nose quickly as long as China and Russia doesnt sucker punch South Korea they will beat that arse. The U.S. Needs to make sure Russia and China lets these guys have a fair fight.

The missing subs is what's seems to be most concerning. Especially considering the amount of U.S. bases in the area.

Dont we have some carriers over there and if imagine some subs. Them North Koreans are playing a dangerous game

I agree. Don't think they in the past have deployed their sub fleet en masse like this which raises some concerns.

1. Just a couple of subs could cause all sorts of havoc with civilian commercial shipping but 50?

2. They could also use them to deploy special forces behind RoK lines to cause mayhem if things kicked off.

3. Remember awhile back the DPRK claimed they developed and were testing a ballistic missile sub (I don't think it's really operational but still)? What if they deployed the rest of the fleet to mask it's deployment for a potential missile strike?

And the fact that the intel suggest the south just realized they were "unaccounted for"

If they have been deployed we are talking about a serious financial investment by the North. i wouldn't think a poor country like that would put that kinda money in "saber rattling". I could be way off on that but just seems like shite to go live at any moment now

My dad was stationed in S. Korea in the 80s and he has told me in the past that the helicopters that patrolled the border would come back to base with bullet holes all over. so I believe that guy.

Couple of interesting tweets regarding the North's subs:

quote:

@20committee 21m21 minutes ago

Given their major reliability & maintenance issues, I can only imagine what Norks had to do to get 50 of their 70 subs underway at once.

@20committee 22m22 minutes ago

Usually 5 DPRK subs are on patrol....suddenly there are 50. Norks are broke, this is tough 4 them...so it's either real or major agitprop
