Put some anti-freeze in a bowl and leave it out, but don't let your dogs get into it.

Go catch a Canebrake rattler and release him under the shed.

You need to seal up whereever the possum is getting in, set the trap up under the shed with cat food (make sure trap is big enough), catch possum, then reset trap to see if there are more. Possums are good for keeping rodent population down but they are flea bags.

Find someone with an old school Jack Russell Terrier that has a prey drive - possum gone.

Opossum is correct. A possum is an Austrailian/Kiwi marsupial.

this is a great thread, ill be picking up a MCD's cheeseburger on the way home. I have caught two coons in the trap next to my trash (using that shitty dog food for little dogs), but just like you, the possum wont have any of it

then he gets to meet the .22 CB short finally

hate to sound like a PETA spokesman and i would have seriously shot this little fricker if i hadn't trapped it but once i got it in the trap i figured it was just trying to live, much like us.

So i just relocated it to a wooded area to give it a chance to live.

Those traps are designed to be thrown in a pond after you catch the possum.

Good for you. I'd have done the same thing, and I'm not PETA person at all. Just don't see the sense in killing something that is doing nothing more than trying to live.

Unless it poses a threat to me, that is.
