The weakness of social distancing

Is that it has to last until we have a treatment that really works without bad side effects or a vaccine. Once things start going back to normal we run the risk again of a major outbreak.

Right now we are just biding time until medicine catches up. Hopefully that happens soon but if not, football season will be seriously in jeopardy.

Social distancing isn’t going to reduce the number of people infected, it’s going to slow the rate of infections, thus giving the medical industry a chance to mount an effective treatment response.

Yeah, somebody had a shifting curve graphic yesterday that showed a spike later on after serious short term mitigation. I feel like that's where we're going, unless we have a 2-3 month shutdown, in which case all hell will break loose. Funny you say that about football as I have been joking we should just overwhelm the health care system now so we don't lose football games.
