The system is broke everywhere. I’m a foster home recruiter for a Christian NP in my spare time and have been a foster parent myself. Stories like yours are found everywhere.
Until our governments actually start to give a crap about kids nothing will change. They ok killing them in the womb, why should they care about them out of it. Just need to get them off the government books as fast as possible and move on to the next one.

So the state wanted you to adopt a child whose parents didn't willing surrender permanent rights to? You would be a giant pos if you adopted a child like that. I side with the judge on this one. That wasn't a blinding call. You screwed yourself.
You have no idea on how this works do you? DCFS recommends changing the goal when the parents fail to obtain any of the goals given to them to get their children back. in this case both parents were arrested. The mom broke her parole and was still in jail and the dad was bailed out. They have both failed three drug test to date with 5-7 different drugs in their system each time. CFS felt like that they were not going to get it together. So at 6 months they were going to change the goal to adoption. this does not mean the case is over. the parents would still have a chance to get their life together to get their child back. At the 12 month mark, if the parents have not completed enough of their plan then the state would have recommended that their rights be terminated and the baby would become a ward of the state in wich he along with my family would move in to the adoptions unit where we would eventually adopt him.

The worker screwed up. I bet a dollar she isn’t identify the uncle early on , nor did she contact him. Law states that family is the default and only if family doesn’t want to adopt or can’t does the foster family get to adopt. It’s a stupid law bc the family should have been there to assist or protect the child in the beginning.

He was identified first by the bio parents but he has a felony record so there for could not get the baby.
