I'm reading Cary Grant's biography and you forget how twisted and sexual old Hollywood was because in the film's they put out then were very conservative in nature.

She went Blonde for "The Lady from Shanghai", which is one of the best film noir flicks of all time imo.

She was a beauty but she often said that men saw Gilda and got Rita. She was obviously very insecure and didn’t think she was that pretty.

Jack Warner (i may be wrong) wanted her, but she kept refusing him. He got pissed and tried to kill her career by keeping her under contract or not letting her do other movies. I'd like to believe she was the only starlet he didn't get to bang.
