My residency program required them. Everyone does a minimum of 6 over 3 years. Some do more.

You’re FM right? What state is this? I don’t think the shreveport programs do that.

I am 59 and I lived in Lafayette as a kid. Yes, I remember our doctor making house calls.

A few times when I was a very small child, but the Dr was a neighbor.

Yep. It was an LSUHSC-NO program. It's no longer in the ACGME requirements, though. The program just likes offering it as a service for some of the attendings' (mainly) older, sicker, and less mobile folks.

I am 63 and I had one when I was in my teens. Doctor came off his tennis court dripping sweat. Awesome doctor.
