And yet they decide which men get to fill the most desired openings.

No I do not. I can just tell you from experience that women get hired for engineering jobs at a very high rate. Also girls are better than boys at school. So more and more girls are doing engineering in college and passing with good grades. The numbers are likely very incorrect.

Architecture is similar. Over half of the students in my son’s classes are females.

It’s the anonymity of the internet. Is easy for folks to talk all this shite when they aren’t accountable to anyone.

I can guarantee there is a large percentage of women in engineering

bullshite. The only time women are even close to a significant portion is for the first few common engineering courses freshman year. After that they rapidly attrition out until there's only a handful, mostly ChemE's and Biomed.

The numbers have only increased marginally in the last 20 years, your assumptions are baseless, ignorance-driven wishcasting.

It says 90.54% of EEs are men.

I'd break that down and say at least half of the 9.46% are Asian women.

I'm not an engineer or even ever been in a engineering class, but I do like to watch the SpaceX launches and there's nothing but a bunch of dudes manning mission control.

Yes. I don't think they are comparing Tim Cook's comp to some woman teaching at a Baton Rouge high school just like I don't think they are comparing your salary to Mary Barra's to determine a wage gap or the number would be over 1000%.

You need to look deeper into the cited stats because they absolutely are comparing high-wage fields where men are the dominant demographic vs. low-wage fields dominated by women to arrive at the nonsensical "women make 70% of what men earn" talking point.

Yet women will still complain about a wage gap despite choosing markedly lower paying jobs

This isn’t the burn you think it is though. Women would just read this and use it as further proof that the system is rigged against them and that they get “turned down for higher paying jobs by the patriarchy”

The average IQ between men and women is nearly identical, but ultimately women tend to gravitate towards working with people rather than things. This is true elsewhere in the world, not just the big bad evil oppressive white United States. Unfortunately for them it’s a lot harder to study to become a doctor than a nurse. It’s a lot riskier to be a machinist than to be a social worker.

Study is 21 years old. In an era where any adult woman who had completed college had heard most of her life that woman could not understand math and were not meant to do things like engineering. I suspect the numbers are much closer today.

Women do get paid less due to numerous factors but mainly because they usually do not have the same level of experience as a male at a similar point in their careers because many of the women will have taken some time off to have a kid while the male continued to work. Women are also expected to take off to have a kid and even women themselves generally expect to do so at some point in time....thus they are of less value as an employee. Finally when a woman does have a child they usually miss more time from work than a man with a child because society expects the woman to take care of the child when it is sick where society generally looks down on a man missing time from work to take care of a sick child. I have been told what a good man I was by female managers when I told them I had to leave or not come in because my child was sick and my wife was not in a position to take off. Thats not a good man, that is simply a man doing what he agreed to do...but when we do we are often lauded for having done what women do with no fanfare whatsoever.

Women do make less because they tend to have less experience and many employers expect them to be away from work more often and society expects it of them. It is not fair but it is not the fault of men or women simply doing what is expected of them....

To all the edge lords and neck beards posting on this thread:

Men and Women have almost the exact same IQ on average, women are slightly higher. The difference is women have generally a normal to above average IQ, while men tend to have either a really high or really low IQ.

So yes, on average high IQ people tend to be more men, but also low IQ dumbasses are also mostly men. I’d be willing to bet some of the low IQs are the ones with 50,000 or more posts here.
