I actually brought this up on a topic when it happened. I couldn't go in because they would freak the frick out on me because the possibility of making anyone else on the team sick was too great (some of the team was off for vacation and personal time so I was the only slack.) and I get paid by the hour so I couldn't really afford to not go to a same day facility quickly. It sucked.

Pretty obvious. To intimidate you and try to get you to pay quickly.
Threaten them (urgent care center) with legal action for insurance fraud. That should settle things fairly quickly.

You needed surgery from a Wal-Mart Optometrist. Hop in a shopping cart and ride to the mattress department to prep for surgery ASAP!

Dont know why you didnt go to the doctor instead of straight to a pharmacist. Also, insurance companies being profit organizations screws up health care.
Edit: Just saw that you wanted to go somewhere on the same day. Those urgent care places can be kind of sketchy so I would avoid them in the future.

Probably their in house collections, which does not affect your credit. Just another cubicle and phone line.
