backflow would have a long way to go to cause trouble that far into EBR.

That is my big question/concern
It looks like (estimate) 20+ miles from where Bayou Manchac and the Amite meet to Bayou Fountain at Bluebonnet.
That is a LONG way for that back flow to travel, considering all the other creeks, lower banks along the way, etc..
Is it really that possible for the water to travel all that distance?

It's really difficult to say. Again, the magic number is 21.5 because that's the forecasted crest where these watersheds connect with the Amite. But the dynamics of this backflow are difficult to predict without a hydraulic/hydrologic model and study. The water actually has to move up through these creeks and bayous, which takes time. Will it get all the way up to 21.5 there? I have no idea. When will it peak and start to fall? I have no idea.

It's possible definitely. Maybe this storm doesn't make it happen but there is no telling how the water will spread out. All the curves of the creeks play a factor as well. I don't think a prediction can be made ever for this sort of thing.

Barely passable. If vehicles keep trying to go through it will get water in the houses on Chadsford.

We are in keystone in prairieville and above 14 feet. Would it be an overreaction to send my wife and kids to her parents in Garyville?

At Burbank/Highland, water has overtaken one lane on Burbank at the curve where the old model airplane field used to be. Bayou Fountain at the bridge there is almost at road level.

It's only a matter of time till it hits bluebonnet and further down... all those neighborhoods and all those people will need serious help... we're talking thousands of people

I live in Summerwood off of Burbank, between Gardere and Bluebonnet. Bayou Fountain runs behind my neighborhood. Am I fricked? I didn't think it would flood all the way down here but now your post has me worried. Is it backflowing?
