Maybe he’s just trying to minimize any part he may have played in contributing to this accident.

Or maybe he’s telling the truth. His “part” even if he panic braked would be zero. He could easily say “I saw an oncoming car in my lane and wanted to avoid them”. He didn’t.

She should have been ticketed, but not charged with any kind of negligent homicide. She made a mistake by swerving the wrong direction, but she didn't create the situation that caused the truck to hit his brakes. Lacy was rightfully charged with negligent homicide and the new video shows that.

I wouldn't call it a mistake. Again, if she had employed normal defensive driving like everyone else did and her following distance was dictated by the speed limit, she would have indeed slowed down and even to stop in "her lane" if she wasnt speeding and not paying attention. Why is it everyone was able to slow down except her ? Because she was following too close and its known she was going over the speed limit. The gold truck slowed down, the white suv behind the brown suv that was involved in accident slowed down in time, the red semi slowed down, everyone used good defensive driving in the video. Funyon lady didnt. She clearly stated she by the time she realized what was happening she was trying to avoid the gold truck because when gold truck pulled over, some of his truck was still in the lane and she swerved to miss him and collided with the brown suv. While KL was driving recklessly and causes the chain of events, her actions were completely negligent imo. She did not establish proper following distance, the lady behind the brown suv did, gold truck did when he saw KL.

Beside the obvious of what KL was doing on video, think about this. KL was literally already back into his lane before funyon lady even swerved and hit the brown suv. Remember this, if she had been driving correctly like the others were, she would have slowed down and held her lane with no accident. Imo, I cannot accept that KL made her do what she did. KL didnt make her follow too close, make her speed or make her not pay attention. Jmo. Peace to all of the deceased. Sad story indeed.
