10-15 years ago no one gave any serious thought to cutting the cord. Unless they were the "live off the grid" type.

True, but it wasn't mandated, thus the difference isn't apparent. So most people will think this is a nonissue.

If local providers start doing what NN supporters are worried they'll do, people will be up in arms about it but it might be too late.

Which are?

I've asked like 3 times what about the current regulatory scheme is stifling growth or hurting the consumer and have not gotten an answer.
