Seems strange to spend 500/month on entertainment and complain about not being able to escape the parents.

Loved how you addressed one, just ome thing in my post. Anybody that wants a crutch or a fall guy, They will look till they find one, or even make one up. Alot of kids needed to be at a trade school, vice LSU or some other university.

Agreed, but high school diplomas are covered by the state. If a bachelor's is the new hs diploma, it should be covered as well.

The average 1970 family lived in 1000 fewer sq feet than the current household and worked on their own vehicles to nurse them along. It's absolutely true.

For a board full of people claiming 2-3 degrees, the fascination with shitty blue collar jobs is odd.

This is such a myth- most people attending college go to state school and major in things like communication, marketing, biology, education, etc.

$3000 per month!?! What the hell are millenials doing going to college and choosing a major that pays anywhere near that amount? You know exactly what you're average starting salary will be and what the employment rate is with a quick google search. If you're dumb enough to spend 4-5 years of your life and tens of thousands of dollars on a major that pays anywhere close to that amount then you're an idiot and make horrible choices.

35K? That's alarming. Why are the skills not matching the available jobs?

Even H1B indentured servants make more than that.

Sure, I agree with you about the majority of majors. But my point still stands, these type of degrees are increasing at rates that would surpise most anyone. They scream for more dollars and increased faculties and it is a dollar grab from the university and the taxpayer. You cannot turn them down or the professors wil label you a racist. Bigot, those "ist" words. Look at this deal that Clemson is taking off on. What a waste of taxpayer money in the state of South Carolina. But you got a group of people with an agenda and a money grab!
Here is the bottom line, Universities are trying to create an "enlightened" class of people, but here is the catch, they are doing that with an absence of "morals".

Am I the only one who doesn't think 35k is that bad?

I guess I might be tough if you have a lot of student loan debt, but if you're coming out of a state school (relatively) debt free, you can easily live on 35k for a year or two to get started.

A BS and some graduate work. I stopped working on it and went back home. I was needed there as my grandfather was getting older and he wanted me to step in for him on the family farm.
But seriously, what does my degree have to do with it? And yes I worked part time while in school. Party money.

Demanding jobs still pay. People don't want manual labor or demanding jobs. If so, they could make much more than 30k.

In the 70s work was physically hard and lacking technology.

no shite. wading in crap or welding everyday would suck. demanding jobs are also stagnant. unless you own your own shop, you'll always make the same as a welder, drafter, plumber, etc. a lot of white collar jobs don't start out that great these days but have a much higher ceiling to advance to if you work hard and are likable.
