The 2020 Easter Sunday tornado outbreak was very historic

In terms of the number of tornadoes that occurred in a 24-hour period, it ranks third all-time with 123 confirmed tornadoes. Only the 2011 and 1974 "Super" Outbreaks had more confirmed tornadoes in a 24-hour period.
Another potential outbreak looks to be taking aim at the Deep South on Sunday so heads up guys.

I'll always remember being on a boat in the middle of the BVIs. Getting a cell signal for the first time in a few days that morning and seeing the destruction wrought on T-town.

I was going to school at Alabama at the time. It was only my second time chasing a storm and I ended up taking photographs of it from a parking garage situated near the county courthouse.

Would you mind posting a few pics?

Sure.
Bare in mind that these photographs come from an iPhone 3G and I am by no means a professional photographer.

That's so cool and scary.

Yeah. I was young and stupid. I set up shop downtown because that's where the radar was showing it was going. I had hoped to have a close encounter with the storm because I figured it would be a lot like the Cullman tornado from earlier. I was not prepared for a 3/4-quarter-mile-wide monster and am thankful it didn't come through downtown.

Those are impressive photos, some of the best I've seen of the April 27, 2011 Tuscaloosa tornado.
For those that might not be familiar, the University of Alabama campus is off to the left from these photos' perspective, in the general direction of the path the tornado is taking. Ultimately, the main destruction from the tornado missed the southern edges of the campus ( law school, Coleman Colliseum, Bryant Denny Stadium) by about 1/4- 3/4 mile.

Thanks for the photos. I've always been fascinated by large storms and have always wanted to be a storm chaser. That last photo is a real butt hole clincher for sure.

You can't see it in the photos but I vividly remember a shite ton of debris in the air. I was so excited, it being my first tornado and all, that I wasn't really thinking about the people who were dying about a mile or so in front of me. I still feel guilty about that. I think roughly 50 people were killed by this storm in Tuscaloosa, including a few of my fellow students.
And there I was, in that parking garage, having the time of my life. I was so stupid.
