Demuro put it a good way: With the cybertruck, you get more than a light duty full size, but you will pay more. You get less than a heavy duty and pay about the same (or still more lol)
I snickered through the entire video. He was doing a paper comparison and came up with the more money more truck/same money less truck equation while plopped down in front of the GT. On paper, a quintessential pay more money for less car vehicle.
I have no idea whether it will be a commercial success or not. I would be more confident it would be if the styling weren't so avant-garde. As a vehicle, I see the value whether people that actually have enough use for a pickup to own one will buy them remains to be seen.

Overall, the market is going to be those folks who buy F150s and similar sized trucks with all the bells and whistles but not necessarily just for the functionality is my guess.
We'll see, obviously, but I don't foresee that working out for Tesla. Their strategy has been to create approachable EVs that can compete on price, and beat on performance.
The cybertruck is the opposite of all 3 of those. It's not competitive on price (you're probably looking at close to 45-50k for a comfortably equipped base model cybertruck after ttl) it’s not an approachable design (I like it tho) and it doesn’t beat on performance.

I mean, yea, but a GT is a niche car. TSLA has no interest in the cybertruck being a niche vehicle.

I am pretty sure that it will outperform trucks they way they are normally loaded (like a passenger car) in pretty much every performance metric. Acceleration is a given, lower CG and will almost certainly corner better, brake better and will be more comfortable and be objectively safer both passive and active.

Nope.
F150’s with the 2.7 ecoboost beats the base cybertruck to 60 and tows more. Haven’t even looked at chevy’s offerings
We have no idea of its comfort etc
