on a pay as you go basis. Tesla mgt recently asked suppliers for a rebate on goods bought and paid for by the co in 2016! In other words they wanted 20% of their purchase prices retroactively refunded.

Musk obviously approached the Saudi's hoping to get help and in reality the Saudi's may have an interest in the co to balance out their energy investments. They may want to deal themselves in to the solar and battery business. But some feel they will wait to see if Tesla can pull a rabbit out of the hat and survive. Probably betting that they can't so they can pick up the pieces or all of the co at a bargain. EM is a one of a kind great promoter and raiser of fund but at some point you have to deliver the goods and make some money. He really offered nothing revolutionary. Solar panels, in home expensive battery packs that served as backup in case of outage, and expensive electric vehicles with stronger batteries so they ran fast. But mister he is a world class promoter.

My LA friends regard him as an American hero.

I've really tried to see him from their shoes, I just can't.

I get it takes time to build an idea, etc etc. Tesla can go frick itself.

SpaceX, I'm following. I do enjoy seeing those rocket boosters land on re entry. Plus space is wayy cooler than delivering a battery powered car.

World freaking class snake oil salesman though! Big time! I suspected that when he seemed to keep bringing new adventures to the forefront before he actually had success in anything. It was like a ponzi, a new and bigger idea and project to take attention off the other projects, mainly the cars. He even got off into selling FLAME THROWERS. Then he was gonna break ground on the underground jet speed 30 minute travel tunnel between NY and DC within some ridiculous time frame like 30 days or something. Can you imagine the time consuming amount of purchasing property, drilling, permits yada, yada, yada. Even if the government declared eminent domain and backed it it would be years and years and likely insanely expensive.

Tesla will default and then be bought for pennies and develop a real car.

Look at Karma.

Time will eventually make an affordable electric car for the masses. It doesn't have to be a spaceship though.

Honestly I could see them giving up on cars and becoming solely a battery company. I hope they don’t though, developing the infrastructure for an electric car nation is a great idea.

They built a bunch of gas stations.

It is cool they did it, but it wasn't revolutionary. They used TSLA investors money to prop up Solar City so Musk could make billions when he sold it to TSLA...well, forced TSLA to buy it.

He installed his product around the US on investors dime, now will charge people to use them.

Til they break down and there's no one to fix them within 100 to 500 miles and no parts to replace the broken ones. Was in LA area last weekend and passed a multi auto dealer mall. Honda, Jeep, Subaru, VW and Tesla. They were all booming with vehicles parked out front and service bays full etc. Except the Tesla which was boarded up and he paint peeling and weeds growing. The same suppliers that provide components for the other auto mfg's supply Tesla so there is nothing inherently amiss with their components. Nor anything special. It's the hit and miss shite show of the assembly line putting them together process where they are failing. So they can't meet production or mess up and have to begin again. And the warranty is hard to honor since there is a shortage of parts and mechanics and dealerships to work on them.
