I suppose I haven’t been clear. There’s a number of reasons to stay, mainly convenience for work. But what can I do to make them actually fix things?

spend a bunch of money, have a bunch of headaches, and then eventually just move.

I knew I came to the right place. You’re all correct. I’m gonna tell em to piss off and just move out. Thanks for making me realize it’s bullshite what they are doing.

You can’t force them to manage their property differently. They are obviously cutting corners at your expense. Review your lease, cover your arse, and then move. When you’re sitting in traffic because you’re a little further from work, just keep reminding yourself that at least your A/C is working at home.

The recourse you have is to move. What would make you want to seek some government agency to file complaints when you can just get the frick out and live somewhere else?

Yeah, landlords should be allowed to treat renters like shite with no accountability. OP should just pay thousands of dollars to break his lease when the landlord isn't fulfilling basic statutory obligations. Then the landlord can do the same shite to some more tenants.
