Tell me about local auto auctions

Can the public attend? Are most if the buyers local used car lots? Are most all of the cars trade ins? Is everything run no reserve? Any good stories of good finds? Any specific information about the one in Lake Charles? TIA.

Most auctions are dealer only. Public auctions are usually cars that don't get sold at dealer auctions. Local used car lots buy from dealer auctions. Reserves dependent on auction/seller.

I used to occasionally go to the one in Scott with my friend who is a dealer. With no experience, even if they allowed you to bid, you would be in way over your head.
