Sounds like next time I will be going to check out table rock for a day.

Just make sure you go to Top of the Rock for dinner while your at Table Rock. Stay at Big Cedar Lodge if possible. There are dozens of top notch resorts located on Table Rock, but Big Cedar Lodge is without comparison.

You'll love Table Rock Lake!

I like Table Rock a lot. Beaver feels to be a little more wide open for wakeboarding but it's not as popular w/ Arky folk than Missouri or Oklahoma folks for some reason.

Grand Lake and Lake Eufaula are good times too. As is Bull Shoals.

There's no shortage of water spots for boating around here.

Exactly. You can't go wrong in either part of the two states. NW AR has more seclusion. SW Missouri has more entertainment. Both are extremely scenic.

SW MO and NW AR should break off to become their own state. The Ozarks shouldn't associate with St. Louis, KC, Little Rock, and West Memphis. We're better than all of those places combined.

Please don't trash our state, don't leave your waste, don't act like an a-hole, don't pull over on the side of the road and pick wildflowers from our fields and take photos of our horses, cattle, donkeys, etc. Don't go fishing, hunt arrowheads or hike on private property without asking first. Use common courtesy and we'll likely let you do whatever you want, and don't ask us for meth or weed.

Ooookkkkkk...wasn't really planning on doing any of that. This isn't our first trip to such a location, and we've been pretty successful being good visitors thus far.

Feel free to do all of those things in Table Rock. We'll gladly take your money and ask you to come back again!

Choose wisely!

So how do you feel about Table Rock?

the difference between Big Cedar and Top of the Rock is it's a timeshare resort and Beaver Lake isn't going to be that. Beaver's cabins are just that little mom and pop ran rentals that are far more laid back and private.

This is exactly what we're looking for.

And Mizzoukills, no, I'm not saying that the same can't be had at Table Rock, because I'm guessing it can be. Along with free puppies, HIV free hookers, and what not.

I sense you aren't taking me seriously. You weren't impressed by the images of Top of the Rock/Big Cedar Lodge?

Quite the contrary. I was making a tongue in cheek comment given your apparent passion for the place.

If you just want isolation with somewhat close access to small town bars, Beaver Lake/Eureka Springs is your choice.

Sounds like this would be my preference as well as what the OP is looking for.

The Top of the Rock thing you keep yammering about sounds like a golf resort and I hate resorts and golf.

It's not. Far from it.

Golf is just a very small component. You can't truly grasp Top of the Rock, Big Cedar Lodge, and Table Rock Lake until you've actually been there.

Your loss.

Yup. We're not looking for "resort central". We want a quiet, local, non-chain experience.

right on.

You can never be too careful w/ LSU fans visiting.

Last fall I ran some Lousiana people off my property as they were trying to dump their RV waste alongside a roadside creek that goes beside an entry to a section of our hayfields. animals.

This is actually starting to make me laugh. I'm seriously equating Table Rock with Atlantis at this point.

Yeah...you're soooo wrong about that assumption. LOL.

Have fun at Beaver Lake/Eureka Springs. It's a nice little place. If you have time consider making the 45 minute drive north. It's a very scenic drive. Perhaps visiting in person will persuade you visit sometime in the future.

It is already #1 on the list for our 2017 trip. I promise. I wouldn't be so foolish as to go to the best place possible now. Everything after that would suck. Slow build my man!

As Latarian (Arkansas fan boy) adamantly states: "SW Missouri, Table Rock Lake, and Top of the Rock are truly God's country. There's no comparison."

He's absolutely right.

You're a young man. You have plenty of time to visit both NW Arkansas and SW Missouri in your future.

If you want to visit the Atlantis of the United States...you know where to go.

I'll be 38 in a week, so I will be ready to drink from the Fountain of Youth that is surely at the top of Table Rock.
